The Coolest Places To Go In An American Summer
Posted by fts in Tourist Attractions on December 9th, 2009
Depending on where you’re located, summer in the USA can mean blistering heat and long days of the purest sunshine. Most people would choose this over wet and cold weather of course, but you can easily become too hot in many places, and that’s not fun either. What you can do though is take a trip to somewhere you can find cool waters and a chilled out atmosphere that will make you feel fresh again. Here is a review of three such places you can find in the States.
Newport Beach Resort, California. This place is a huge favorite of Hollywood’s rich and famous and is one of the top places to be seen in the summer months. American holidays to Newport have seen a sharp increase in the last 5 years, partly due to the increased profile of the resort, but also because it now boasts some of the best shopping and restaurants in the whole country.
Key West, Florida.Arguably the best location in the Florida Keys, Key West has got everything from stunning scenery to amazing tropical reefs. You can hire a boat for the day and do a bit of fishing, and when it gets a bit hot just take a quick dip and do some snorkeling…pure heaven. If you want a bit more entertainment then head into town, where you’ll find street performers, artists and more bars serving refreshing drinks than almost any other American holidays resort.
Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Texas. If it’s hot and you’ve got kids, then chances are they won’t be satisfied hanging around drinking pina coladas all day, or maybe they will. They are more likely though to want to spend their time splashing around and zipping down water slides, which makes Schlitterbahn Waterpark the perfect place to visit. This water park hosts an impressive 65-acres worth of water fun and constantly updates its attractions, which explains why it wins numerous awards each year.
If you still can’t cool down enough however and you’re not enjoying summer, you can always go on Canada holidays instead, where the climate is a little fresher.
