On many fields it is supposed that you will use their recommendations to capitulation. In other words, if you are in 5, 10, 15 or even 20 foots from the player of the rival team, give them an opportunity to surrender. If instead of giving up they open fire, you can reply to the enemy fire.
As a rule, at tournaments or commercial fields it is not allowed to perch on covers, buildings, logs and trees. Changing of buildings, trenches or shelters is also forbidden. However, both these actions can be countenanced in stage games.
Resolutions of arbitrators or referees are not negotiable. Heated argument with referee will lead to sending off the game. If you need to discuss something with a referee, wait until the end of the game.
At some fields and the majority of tournaments shorts and clothes with short sleeves are forbidden. And it is not without reason: balls with paint sting painfully and leave bruises which can heal during some days.
Usually rules stipulate that a type of material of which the player’s clothes should be made (it must not be frictioned fabric, because in this case it will be possible to wipe off a paint easily), and a garb (it must not be baggy).
In the process of the game everybody who is on a game field or nearby, is obliged to wear protective masks which are made according to the standard ASTM F1776. Everybody must obey this rule, involving referees, umpires, players and audience. The protective system includes a mask covering your face and protecting ears. Any component of protective system should not differ from the specification of producer.
Player must wear protective mask all the time. Every unmasked player will by any reason be ordered off the field immediately. If you have problems with weeping or you need to set a mask straight, tell about it to your referee. Referee will supervise you while you take a mask off or set it straight.
Remember, that only such balls with paint, which are issued at the field, are permitted at tournaments and commercial fields. It obviates a problem of using old, fragile balls with paint (or frozen!), which some players bring with themselves. Check up the rules. You can see a stamp: «BYOP» = Bring Your Own Paint or «FPO» = Field Paint Only. It is also applied to color limits; organizers of paintball games usually prohibit using blood red paint at the field.
Use of strong expletives is a violation of rules and guarantees sending off the field. Staged games and «Recball» can be more indulgent in this aspect, but you must be preventively discreet – never say crude things at the field.
