Yangtze River (it is usually called Changjiang River in China, while Yangtze River was traditionally called before 1949, it was named after an old ferry called Yangtze Jin. The Yangtze River originally just meant the section of lower reaches of the river, while because it was heard initially and misunderstood partially by Western missionaries, Yangtze River became the international name) is Asia’s longest and the third longest river in the world with the total length of 6,397 kilometers.

Yangtze River Cruise

Originated from the Tibetan Plateau in western China, Yangtze passes through the highlands in Yunnan and Sichuan Provinces, hilly gaps in Chongqing and Hubei, and then Hunan and Jiangxi, the eastern China plain areas of Anhui, Jiangsu, Shanghai, and eventually flows into the East China Sea. The whole valley area of Yangtze River is up to more than 1,800,000 square kilometers.
